It is another beautiful morning at the beach.

I was trying to show the restaurant.  You can kind of see the stairs.  This is how close it was to our balcony.

We came down to breakfast about 8:30 a.m., and because the ban on liquor is over, we decided to have a drink at breakfast just on principle! Ha ha ha!

The above picture was taken of the ocean from the breakfast bar, through the shades  I took a photography class from Ken Maggi about how to use "natural frames" just before we left for El Salvador, so I was trying it out!

After breakfast, Marcia and I went to the beach and swam in the ocean.  I had not done that in at least 30 years probably. Marcia helped me to be brave, and I got out into the water. I did get knocked down by one good wave. Marcia got pretty far out beyond the waves and swam.

We came back to the room and chilled out for a while and then at about 1:30 p.m. Omar and Magdalena picked us up to take us to lunch. The place we went to was called La Curve de don Gere. OMG! I thought I'd never see a place like Beto's, but this place is like going to a resort for lunch.  It has a sea pool, which is a pool surrounded by rocks separating the ocean from the pool and it's all one depth so you could walk in it or lay in it and it is just beautiful.

Omar and I went in the pool, and while we were there we got to witness to some people who were in the pool too.  Two of them were from Washington D.C. and the others were Salvadoreans. We swam at least 45 minutes and then walked up the stairs to have lunch. Oh yes there are lots of stairs (gradas) in El Salvador or at least where we are staying because the hotels are built on cliffs.

The website for this place is http://www.zonagere.net/index.php/component/virtuemart/hotel/curva-de-don-gere-detail?Itemid=0   We sat outside and had a nice leisurely lunch and then some wonderful conversation and then some more conversation and then Magdalena took baby Samuel into the regular swimming pool. All in all our lunch lasted about 3 1/2 hours. We very much enjoyed our time with Omar and Magdalena. We realize that starting tomorrow we may be sharing them with more people and also we will be in San Salvador which is more the city and may not be as tranquil as the sea.  It was very special to have this time to relax at such a beautiful location and share our love with each other.

They wrap the flatware like mummies.  This is mi cuchara mummy.

After lunch, they dropped us back off at the hotel where we hung out some more, resting, and relaxing.

  1. I love that you went in the water. We used to go way out in the ocean at Santa Cruz. Was it cold water? I'm kind of partial to the Gulf of Mexico now for their nice warm water.
