In Planning Mode

Well, just before Memorial Day Weekend, I decided that for my vacation week June 19-23, which had been planned for all year, I would join Ramona and Karl in Dublin, Ireland.  I had some points on United Air Lines, and lo and behold I was able to get a "free" ticket round trip to Dublin, so off I go.

I'll fly out from Dayton via Newark on Sunday night June 18 and arrive in Dublin on Monday morning, June 19.  Since Ramona and Karl won't arrive until Wednesday, I decided to go about 45 minutes outside of Dublin to the Irish Sea and stay at a Home Stay in Laytown.  I will stay with a woman named Linda.  We've already talked on Whatsapp.  She is a grandma like me.  It will be great.

On Wednesday I'll come to Dublin where Ramona found us an apartment in the Stoneybatter section of Dublin on AirBnB. From there we'll do the touristy things like Trinity College, where the Book of Kells is stored, and Guiness brewery, and Kilmainham Gaol.  Angie and Matthew had gone there on their honeymoon in 2009 and reading their blog http://albertihoneymoon.blogspot.com gave us lots of laughs and got us excited for the adventure.  They actually went all over Ireland driving a car, but we're going to keep it a little simpler.

We've been in touch with some believers there and are expecting to get to see them at least once.  Also, long time friend Hannah Burkhart will be there on the Friday of our stay so maybe we'll get to share a pint with her!
